McKinleyville Land Trust Educational Wetland Clean-up Day

It's back to school clean-up day at the McKinleyville Land Trust Dow's Prairie Educational Wetland! Join this community wide Volunteer Day project in the name of outdoor education for the Dow's Prairie School kids! Sunday August 19th, 10am to 1pm. The wetland is part of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Schoolyard Habitat Program. Bring your gloves, garden tools, and water bottle. Early Literacy Volunteer Training

The Decade of Difference Early Literacy Partners Program is offering free training on Wednesday, August 29, at the Humboldt County Office of Education for individuals interested in making a difference in the life of a child. This is a great opportunity for community members to become early literacy tutors & help children in grades pre-school through second grade improve their skills in reading and/or math. No prior experience is necessary, and all materials and information will be provided.
