Constitution Week

DAR TO CELEBRATE CONSTITUTION WEEK: Every year the Redwood Forest Chapter of the National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, celebrates Constitution Week from September 17th to the 23rd by placing a display in the Humboldt County Library main branch, 1313 Third Street, Eureka. This display can be found on the second floor in the Hagopian Art Gallery by the entrance to the Humboldt Room and can be seen through the end of the month. Available for free by the display case are: Constitution and Flag Code booklets, informational pamphlets, bookmarks and more!

Jerry Fowler of McKinleyville will give a talk titled “Equality Opportunity in America?” at the North Coast Mensa Forum at noon Saturday (Sept. 29) at the Samoa Cookhouse. There will be time for questions after his presentation. Fowler is author of “The Myth of the Level Playing Field” and has 50 years of experience as a psychotherapist. The book grew out of his intense interest in national political and economic issues. The forum is open to the public. Lunch is no-host.

Pastels on the Plaza

The first Saturday in October is the day families, artists, and sponsors gather on the Arcata Plaza for a magical art show. The sidewalk is transformed into a gallery of art with a riot of color! This benefit for Northcoast Children's Services is supported by local businesses that sponsor an artist by making a donation of $150 or $250 for a square of sidewalk art.
